Turkey: Reconciliation with Israel: Outlook and Energy Implications

Beginning on 6 April top-level Turkish and Israeli negotiators convened in London to iron out the technical aspects of reconciliation between the two countries, following official approvals on both sides toward improving their ties. The Turkish side is led by Feridun Sinirlioglu, the long-serving undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who briefly acted as interim minister between June and November 2015. On the Israeli side, the prime minister’s special envoy, Joseph Ciechanover, and the acting chairman of Israel’s National Security Council, Gen. Jacob Nagel, led the delegation.
