Turkey: Erdogan Handpicks Cabinet

On 24 November Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced the new Turkish cabinet elected into office after the 1 November early elections. The most significant detail about the cabinet is that a different one was proposed by Prime Minister Davutoglu initially, but was altered by President Erdogan during their pre-announcement meeting. Based on Horizon contacts close to Davutoglu, the list he submitted to the president featured Ali Babacan as foreign minister, Yalcin Akdogan as interior minister, Taner Yildiz as minister of energy and Berat Albayrak as deputy prime minister.
