Russia: Gas Export Channel for Rosneft: An Unlikely Prospect

On 5 May Izvestia reported that the Russian government will allow Rosneft to export gas to Europe via an agency agreement with Gazprom. According to the newspaper, Rosneft will deliver its gas to Gazprom in Russia, while Gazprom will sell equivalent volumes sourced in Europe to the UK via the Interconnector pipeline. The article claims that sales volumes would be in the range of “5 to 25 bcma.”
