Russia: A Symbol of Power: Sechin’s Plans for Pechora LNG

In mid-December, the Ministry of Natural Resources authorized an auction for two major fields in the Nenets Okrug that will take place in January 2016. The fields, Layavozhskoye and Vanevisyskoye, were discovered in the early 1970s. Their C1 gas reserves amount to 138 bcm and 85 bcm, respectively. According to the ministry the starting price at the auction will be about $110mn.
