Mozambique: Audit Deadline Extended: The IMF’s Changed Terms

The independent audit into EMATUM, MAM and ProIndicus, the three companies that incurred Mozambique’s secret sovereign debt, was initially due to be completed by the end of February. However, this timeline was recently extended by the Attorney General’s Office, which is formally responsible for the audit. The new deadline of 31 March gives the auditors more time to collect and compile evidence. (The auditors began their work at the end of November, and initially had 90 days to complete the audit.)
