Mozambique: Armed Clash Adds Pressure to Ongoing Renamo-Government Negotiations

On 2 April a group of armed men presumed to be from Renamo clashed with Armed Forces for the Defense of Mozambique (FADM) units at Guija, Gaza province. While there were fortunately no casualties, the altercation is significant given that Renamo and the government signed a ceasefire accord on 5 September 2014, which parliament ratified into law a few days later ahead of the October general elections.
