Kazakhstan: Kashagan Unlikely to Restart before Spring 2017

In early April representatives of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium said that the Kashagan field is slated to be re-launched this fall, as new pump stations are now ready and the prior serious problem of the corrosive impact of gas on gas-gathering lines is in the process of being resolved. However, based on conversations with different Horizon contacts to build an independent picture of the likely outlook for production, our conclusion is that the earliest the field will restart will be spring 2017.
